What to Expect
-
Trip Planner Tammy Rose is a certified personal chef, avid conversationalist and an enthusiastic runner and coffee lover. Food, stunning landscapes, and local influence are her travel holy trinity- and let us tell you, the Tuscan countryside has these to offer in spades.
The Tuscan countryside is an iconic, art-like landscape of rolling hills, winding cypress-lined roads, vineyards, olive groves, and golden fields, blending carefully cultivated farmland with natural beauty. Dotted with medieval hilltop towns, rustic farmhouses, and ancient routes, it embodies a timeless sense of tradition, culture, and calm, perfect for wine tasting, exploring historic villages, and soaking in serene, picturesque views. -
This tour is for you if you…
Want to experience rural Tuscany off the beaten path using food as the lense to see the landscape, culture, and people;
You are interested in traveling a bit farther afield to take in various towns and regions of Tuscany, rather than focusing on one small area;
You enjoy connecting with farmers, food producers, winemakers and chefs, and see the value of seeing them in their everyday setting, not in one performed for tourists;
You are interested in an experience focused on learning but also coupled with a pleasurable and enjoyable culinary adventure.
One Rambling Rose trips are built around a shared set of values rooted in kindness. We believe in prioritizing connection (whether with locals or fellow travelers), keeping an open mind through all experiences, and being adaptable with all that travel may bring. If the descriptions below sound like you, we want you to join us!
You are extremely flexible, open minded, easy-going and always up for a range of experiences.
You’re a positive person who looks for the best in all circumstances.
You enjoy meeting new people and are keen to make friends on this trip.
You desire to be a better traveler: respecting other people, other cultures + the planet along the way.

We will be staying at the Grand Universe Lucca - part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection.
Located literally in the heart of Lucca, whose walls are intact from next to the Piazza Napoleone which was created by Elisa Bonaparte back to the 16th century. Standing in front of the Teatro del Giglio, Grand Universe Lucca offers breathtaking views of Saint Martino’s Cathedral, all the churches, monuments and towers. Grand Universe Lucca is an historical beacon blending different eras of history, from antiquity until today. From the existing building wall foundations dating back to Roman times, to the ancient glassblower’s fountain remnants in the cellar, to the beautiful classic but fresh design of the hotel, Grand Universe Lucca is a destination truly unique to the city.
